1-3-1 Half-Court Zone Trap

The 1-3-1 zone defense provides strong coverage to the high post and wing area while putting great pressure at the point of attack.

Teams often incorporate a half-court trap out of this zone creating a look that has two players trapping the ball, two players in the passing lanes preventing ball reversal and a pass down the sideline, and one player protecting the basket.  The defense also ensures that four players will be on the ball side at all times.
