The quick hitter below works nicely for coaches running the Read & React offense out of a 3-Out, 2-In set with the post players playing in the short corners.
The play works as a continuity offense that creates strong ball screens on the wing and presents multiple pitch-out and dump-off options for the ball-handler. On a pitch-out to the perimeter, the offense can start again from the opposite wing.
On some teams I’ve been involved with, we call this play “Tornado” because of the repeating circular dribble penetration into the paint area.
From a Read & React perspective, the play combines the following core Read & React rules:
- Pass & cut
- Ball screen
- Circle movement
- Post slides
